Who saw...
... the first episode in the series "The Next Great Artist"? What did you think? Problem, so far as I'm concerned, is that most of the artists--and the judges--were far from "next." They seemed, on the contrary, very conventional in their understanding of what art is all about, and in the way they go about making it. This LA Times review by Christopher Knight, unfortunately, nails it.
